Planning a trip to Ireland involves a few more deadlines than a standard weekend getaway. Use this timeline to make sure you stay on track!
Phase 1: Preparation (Now – March 2026)
- April 10, 2026: The Passport “Safe Date”
If you do not have a passport or need a renewal, we recommend applying by this date.
- The Rule: Your passport must be valid through April 2027 (6 months past the wedding).
- Current Times: As of early 2026, routine processing is taking about 4–6 weeks, but mailing times can add another month. Applying now ensures you have it in hand by summer.
Phase 2: Booking
We recommend booking flights and hotels as soon as possible. We’d hate for you to miss out on a good deal!
Phase 3: Final Logistics (September 2026)
- September 25, 2026: UK ETA / ETIAS Window If you are planning a side trip to London, Belfast, or Paris, apply for your digital travel authorizations (UK ETA or ETIAS) by this date. Most are approved in minutes, but it’s best to have them done 2 weeks before you fly.
Phase 4: The Big Week (October 2026)
- October 9, 2026: Landing in Dublin We recommend arriving no later than Friday October 9
- October 9, 2026: Welcome Drinks We will have an informal meetup for everyone in town in the evening. Details to follow!
- October 10, 2026: The Wedding Day The main event! We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
