Neighborhoods to Consider

If you prefer to strike out on your own and book an Airbnb or a specific boutique hotel, here are the areas we recommend to keep you close to the action:

1. St. Stephen’s Green & Grafton Street

This is the heart of “Classic Dublin.” It’s upscale, walkable, and filled with beautiful parks and shopping.

  • Vibe: Sophisticated and central.
  • Stay here if: You want to be steps away from the best restaurants and the wedding festivities.

2. The Creative Quarter (Dublin 2)

Located around South William Street, this area is packed with independent coffee shops, bars, and boutiques.

  • Vibe: Trendy and energetic.
  • Stay here if: You want to be in the middle of Dublin’s best nightlife and dining scene.

3. Portobello

A slightly quieter, “hipster” residential neighborhood along the canal.

  • Vibe: Local and leafy.
  • Stay here if: You prefer a charming Airbnb or a quieter boutique hotel while still being a 15-minute walk from the city center.

Quick Tips for Booking

  • Book Early: Dublin is a popular destination year-round. Even if you don’t use our blocks, prices tend to rise significantly as the dates approach.
  • Check for AC: While newer hotels have it, many historic Irish hotels and Airbnbs do not. It’s rarely needed, but keep it in mind if it’s a “must-have” for you!
  • The “Dublin 2” Rule: For the most convenient experience, try to stay within the Dublin 2 (D2) or Dublin 8 (D8) postal codes.
